European e-Skills Week closing event

The e-Skills Week closing event will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark on 30 March 2012. The event will highlight and reward best e-Skills practice observed throughout the campaign and present recommendations to ensure the sustainability of the event. Special attention will be paid to the impact of skills on productivity and growth and on innovation ability. 

 

The e-Skills Week closing event will take place at the Experimentarium which is both a lively and inspiring location.

The Experimentarium is a non-profit science communication centre that promotes interest in natural science and technology to the general public, with particular emphasis on young people. The Experimentarium allows its visitors to focus on individualised, entertaining and educational experiences that are also of social relevance. This specific venue will be a catalyst for bringing the key target audiences of the e-Skills campaign together.

3.    Succeeding in today’s digital world

A discussion and portrayal of the skills according to the youth
This workshop explores what we perceive as important skills in order to succeed in a digital world. And at the same time it assesses the portrayal of the digital skilled youth with a critical eye, asking questions such as "who is it, that defines what a digital skill is, why do we need it and how does it look?" The workshop explores upon the digital reality from a youth perspective, and encourages the participants to contribute with knowledge from their own everyday life when digging into the 'digital skills of tomorrow'.

Classroom without walls and e-skilled students

Workshop for educators of ECB - European Coordinating Body in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
The ECB project aims to increase the interest of young Europeans in STEM education and careers, by bringing together and strengthening  cooperation between schools and industry across Europe.
The first ECB-Workshop for Educators of 2012 will take place on 30 and 31 March 2012 alongside the e-Skills Week Closing Conference at the Experimentarium, Copenhagen. 25 educators and various industry professionals will take part in this 2-day workshop to exchange ideas and meet ECB experts.
