The 2012 edition of the e-Skills Week Competition promises to be the most exciting yet. Awarding educators and talented youth between the ages of 14 and 24 years, this year’s five categories aim to highlight the top e-Skills activities currently taking place in Europe.
The e-Skills Week Competition is an opportunity to highlight the extraordinary actions young people and educators alike are doing in Europe in terms of ICT and digital skills & literacy. As a “competition of competitions” top initiatives are first chosen at national level by national e-Skills coordinators and stakeholders, followed by a European panel that chooses the top winners.
- ICT in education: for initiatives that show how digital skills enhance the learning process and bring about innovation. This category is open to educators and young people.
- Young entrepreneurship: for young people who have undertaken an entrepreneurial endeavour, either non-profit or for-profit, through the use of ICT.
- Digital skills: for young people with proven outstanding technical skills in programming, software and/or application design.
- Excellent research project: for young people who have undertaken an excellent research project about or through the use of ICT.
- Girls in IT: for young women with proven successful involvement in the ICT sector and who can be good role models for their peers.
